We’re looking for a full-time, staff Captain to join our SOC team located in Livermore, CA.
As the Captain, here’s the work you’ll do:
• Supervises the activities, responsibilities, projects and tasks of LT, SPO, and CAS personnel assigned to his/her area of responsibility including evaluating performance. Schedules and facilitates meetings with LTs and ensures current security requirements are accurately communicated. Performs pre-muster tasks to include receiving briefing from off-going Shift Captain and LT's, review of shift notes and current temporary orders. Conduct issue of equipment and weapons. Conducts muster briefings to oncoming shift.
• Performs personnel and safety equipment checks, Investigation Reports, and makes notifications of reportable offenses or incidents. Ensures posts are manned through implementation of a work schedule. Issue and Inventory of PF assigned weapons and gear. Reviews and updates schedules for Supervisors, SPO's, anc CAS Operatoros
• Provides daily operational support to the Protective Force Site Manager, participating and assisting in the management of the daily business and department operations. Provides administrative oversight by reviewing and verifying reports, logs, and forms for accuracy. Conduct Fit-for-duty inspection on assigned personnel. Assists in the EMETL reporting requirements and on-post training.
• Manages personnel and safety equipment checks and is responsible for 100% accountability of all weapons and ammunition. Conducts station and patrol inspections ensuring all facilities are serviceable and appropriate notifications are made to correct deficiencies. Prepares SITREP, ASFRs, and Investigation Reports, makes notifications of reportable offenses and/or irregular incidents to Federal Oversight personnel and outside agencies as required.
• Provides daily operational support to the Protective Force Operations Manager, participating and assisting in the management of the daily business and department operations. Provides administrative oversight by reviewing and verifying reports, logs, and forms for accuracy.
• Leads the conduct of investigations on security or personnel issues. Interprets and enforces policies and regulations. Maintaining SPO I certifications.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
• Knowledge of all Sandia-CA site security procedures and policies.
• Understanding of Federal and State Laws and Regulations, Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Manuals, Guides, and Standards, SANDIA/NNSA and SOC policies, procedures, and orders as they relate to Protective Force services, Classified Matter, and Operations Security.
• Supervisory skills to include planning, organizing, scheduling, team building, problem solving, conflict resolution, and directing activities of section employees, conducting performance appraisals and inquiries that address employee performance.
• Intermediate-level computer skills that include all the Microsoft Office Suite software.
• Meet 10 CFR 1046 Basic Readiness Standard, to include: mental alertness and reliable judgment.
And if you have these qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• SOC Sandia Basic Supervisor certification, Basic Security Police Officer Training.
• A minimum of four (4) years in security related field or equivalent combination of academic training, experience or adequate military or law enforcement background experience. At least one (1) years in a Sandia-CA supervisory capacity
• Valid US Driver’s License and be able to obtain a California Driver’s License.
• DOE “Q” clearance authorization.
• Great attitude and team player.
• Successful completion of drug and background screening process.
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $86,800 -$130,200This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
