Position Summary

The Welding Instructor is responsible for developing and delivering College and welding technology-approved curriculum in a student classroom/lab environment. The instructor must maintain appropriate training and credential requirements and assist in student recruitment and placement of students in appropriate work-based learning experiences.

Salary Schedule Placement: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule D1 IC-IV ($38,924 - $87,206) based on education and experience. Summer appointments are based on enrollment- Salary Schedule D1 ($15,105 - $33,890) based on education and experience. Annual Potential Salary including Summer Appointment ($54,029- $121,096)Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION, STANDARDS, AND TRAINING:

Associates Degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution3 years of experience as a practitioner in the welding technology fieldProficient with computers REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, OR SPECIAL CREDENTIALS: Certified to AWS standards on ferrous and nonferrous structural plate and pipe (AWS D1.1 and D1.2 welding codes)Valid driver license and acceptable driving record PHYSICAL DEMANDS –STRENGTH RATING: Environment: Work is performed primarily in a shop environment, with some travel; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; working and/or walking on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surface and rough terrain, extended hours including evenings and weekends.Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in a shop environment; walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, and twist; push, pull, lift, and/or carry moderate to heavy amounts of weight; operate assigned equipment and vehicles; verbally communicate to exchange information.Vision: See in normal visual range with or without correction.Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.Application Procedures/Additional Information
