Minimum Qualifications:

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience working in a library or higher education environment
  • 1 or more years of experience working in an electronic resources or acquisitions environment
  • 1 or more years of experience working with an integrated library system such as FOLIO and/or FOLIO ERM, Ex Libris Alma, or Primo VE
Position Summary:

This is a highly visible and responsible position within the Libraries reporting to the Libraries Head of Finance and Administration (CBO). Responsibilities include collaboration with the department heads and other senior leaders within the unit to implement departmental goals, policies, procedures, and operations for the Libraries. This position will also utilize a P-Card.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

  • Considerable knowledge of the principles, concepts and procedures of business administration and university policies and procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of reconciliation and procurement procedures.
  • Direct subordinate staff and ability to communicate effectively with various levels of personnel.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Gather and analyze budgetary and statistical data.
  • Knowledge of library acquisitions principles, processes and systems.
  • Knowledge of GASB 96 criteria.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Operations and Financial Management

  • Collaborate with Head of Finance and Administration to organize and implement departmental goals, policies, procedures, and operations for the Libraries to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, specifically within the areas of Finance.
  • Conduct financial analysis and perform regular account reconciliations, addressing ad hoc financial issues with thorough investigation and resolution.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other units on behalf of Libraries F&A to facilitate funding transfers, co-funding agreements, and other financial arrangements for the strategic advancement of unit priorities.
  • Generate financial reports to keep Unit leadership apprised of various scenarios.
  • Advise faculty and staff on procurement policies and procedures.

Budget Management

  • Manage and maintain a portfolio of state, IDC, DSS, and grant accounts.
  • Assistance in preparation for annual budget for the Libraries.
  • Initiate, review, and approve transactions in UGA Financials, OneUSG, UGAmart, TouchNet, FAME, Scholarship Universe and other UGA-based financial systems.

  • Act as backup to the Head of Finance and Administration and represent the Head of Finance and Administration at various meetings and events on campus as requested.
