Job description

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Deposit Operations Manager, and maintaining the confidentiality of the Credit Union's member's information, provide a wide range of support to Members and the Credit Union by processing of ACH, Debit Cards, Transaction Processing, Share Draft Processing, IRAs, Member Account Maintenance, Electronic Banking and other functions that may be assigned. Specialists may be assigned primary activities, but need the knowledge, skills, and training to perform all functions. All responsibilities are to be performed in compliance with TCU standard operating procedures, TCU policies, applicable state and Federal regulations and applicable state and federal law, as well as according to TCU's Core Values and Performance Standards.

Essential Responsibilities

ACH

Conduct ACH processing daily: ensure accuracy and verify receipt of incoming ACH files, ACH returns and reversal requests, and business client ACH files, balance collection and distribution of files, record and verify settlement dates, file totals to transmittals to ensure proper posting, maintain record of generation data set numbers to ensure proper collection of file.

Submit, verify and log all daily scheduled jobs and tasks.

Process and handle exception reports, Government Reclamations and Death notices.

Reconcile GL accounts for ACH processing and generate corrections to internal GL and deposit clearing accounts as indicated by the reconciliations.

Plastic Card (ATM/debit/credit card)

Order, reorder and maintain cards, including hot card and pins and other member service requests

Handle all ATM transaction matters including card maintenance and disputes. Process disputes and chargebacks; monitor accounts for unusual activity and resolve member issues for debit and credit cards.

Review VISA CAMS alerts and recommend reissuing versus monitoring cards; facilitate large card reissues.

IRA

Maintain all IRA membership accounts for accuracy and completeness of year-end IRS tax reporting, process IRA death claims in a timely manner, administer the IRA program including the processing of new accounts, rollovers and withdrawals.

Updates the IRA direct system with the core system to ensure accurate reporting

Account Activity & Maintenance

Review, confirm and/or process share drafts, stop payments, Remote Mobile Deposits, Shared Branching transactions, online new account opening, death claims, levies, garnishments and bankruptcy requests, maturity CD requests, daily reports; and settlements as delegated by the Deposit Operations Manager.

Provide Trust account and Ecommerce support

Process daily reports and settlements as delegated by the Deposit Operations Manager

Process and file daily account maintenance requests; maintain address change reports and returned mail logs. Process levies, garnishments and bankruptcy requests; maturity CD requests; daily reports and settlements as delegated by the Deposit Operations Manager.

Provide overrides and provide support to Staff related to Deposit Operations and deposit products and services.

Monitor new account documents and handle account exceptions per the Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Know Your Customer guidelines (KYC). Report discrepancies immediately to the Deposit Operations Manager and assist in clearing discrepancies.

Report closures, account abuse, and fraud to account verification companies.

Report and escalate issues relating to account abuse and suspicious activity.

Verify, process and release wires.

Input Next Day Payments into Eascorp for payment processing.

Other

Assists members with questions regarding the Credit Union's home banking system

Complete Verification of Deposit forms as needed.

Attend regularly scheduled department meetings to ensure open communications of current issues and continued training in regulatory changes or new business products.

Provide back up to all other Deposit Operations Specialists.

May be responsible for the pick-up of the daily mail from the Post Office and distributing the mail to the appropriate departments.

Assists with the processing of the daily incoming mail.

Maintain supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels; expediting orders and stocking items.

Timely completion of own performance evaluation/ and review and submission of supervised employees' evaluations.

Other duties related to TCU's operations or mission as assigned.
