Job description

First Financial Credit Union (FFCU), a Southern Californian financial institution, is seeking a Card Service Representative to join its team at its new operations center in Pasadena. This role provides quality member service to internal and external members as well as provides technical support and education on products and services to front line staff. Performs monetary data entry and dispute research/resolution. Department supports Visa Debit, Visa Credit, ATM and Mobile Wallet

Qualifications and Experience:

• Process request for blocking, replacement or additional cards, requests for adding an authorized user, name changes or other card related functions.
• Activate Visa Debit and Visa Credit cards.
• Reset max pin tries.
• Increase Visa Debit ATM and POS limits within maximum guidelines.
• Review and work daily lost/stolen, activation, Oberthur return mail, fraud (CCS) reports, block cards and issue replacements as necessary.
• Knowledge of Digital Wallets.
• Post exceptions from daily reports, locate and correct any unresolved outages on a daily basis.
• Resolve daily Synapsys/Help Desk service events within established service line agreements.
• Review suspect transaction reports and contact members as needed.
• Process ATM/Debit/Credit card disputes and fraud claims accordance with regulatory rules and Visa guidelines. Maintains dispute tracking, vendor communications, and general ledger balancing. Files Berkley/FinSecure claims as necessary.
• Timely and professional processing of member requests, inquiries and correspondence.
• Participates in inactive Visa campaign including but not limited to inbound and outbound member calls.
• Performs various routine clerical duties including copying, balancing accounts, verifying information, preparing routine reports, preparing and mailing correspondence, faxing, etc.
• Working knowledge of rules and regulations specifically related to department functions: i.e. Visa Regulations, Federal Regulations E and Z, and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance.
• Develops and maintains member service and product skills through active participation in, and successful completion of, on-line training programs, with the goal of completing all modules as scheduled.
• Complete knowledge of all operational tasks performed within the Card Services department.
• Is an active participant in credit union and department team building/promotions.
• Participates in developing their individual development and growth.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

• Analytical ability to conduct an analysis of members card account and recommend alternatives where the analysis reveals possible problems.
• 2 years customer service.
• Solid understanding of Reg E and Visa No Liability compliance.
• The ability to answer telephone and email inquiries and communicate effectively.
• Working knowledge of personal computers.

• Ability to work independently without continuous supervision.
• Basic accounting skills sufficient to process and balance accounts.

Minimum Requirements

Education: High school diploma, computer operation/typing classes, entry level accounting.

The Card Services Rep I is the entry position of a three-level job family. Typically, the position is reserved for individuals with a minimum of two years customer service experience in a fast paced, high volume telephone service environment. Have the necessary education and skills to learn the duties of the job, but have little Card Services experience.
