Facility Maintenance Specialist

Grant Aviation, Inc.

Location

Anchorage, AK | United States

Job description

Grant Aviation is an Alaskan regional air carrier serving rural Alaska since 1971. With bases in Bethel, Emmonak, Dillingham, King Salmon, Cold Bay, Dutch Harbor, Kenai, and Anchorage, Grant Aviation provides scheduled air transport of passengers, cargo, and mail, as well as air ambulance and charter service. Grant employs approximately 350 people.

We believe that air travel isn't a luxury - it's a necessity - and we are committed to creating a safe, friendly, and reliable experience for all our customers.

Our company is built upon respect for our customers, employees, and communities, and we constantly work to improve our operations to ensure smooth travel and enjoyable experiences. We are professional, while staying true to our Alaskan roots and commitment to the personal touch.

Position: Facility Maintenance Specialist

As one of the Facility Maintenance Specialists we are currently seeking to hire, you will be the oil that keeps the bases running. You will be responsive to repair and maintenance requests while keeping your focus on the priority tasks in the work packet. You'll work well autonomously and be a friendly, professional resource for your fellow coworkers. You'll work under the direction of the Station Managers to perform repairs, maintenance, and upgrades to our passenger terminals, hangars, and corporate housing our Bases.

Life On The Job

This position will be scheduled to work one-week or two-week rotations. You will usually know where you're going for your next rotation by the end of the current one, but as you know, things come up and work priorities may change, so we'll keep you as informed as possible while respecting your scheduled time off.

Typically, you'll be based at the Anchorage location based on the work packet developed by the Station Managers, however travel may be required to one of our smaller bases on an as-needed basis. While you'll often take requests for other projects from coworkers at each station, you'll usually capture any additional requests in the system we use to track issues and projects so the Station Managers can prepare for that job while you finish the work in your work packet. Examples of duties to be completed are repairing damaged interior walls, installing ceiling tiles, painting, replacing appliances or electrical components, and coordinating with contractors as needed on bigger projects.

Use your communication and service skills to provide exceptional customer service to our internal customers. We believe a commitment to our internal customers is critical so they can give the same great service to our customers. While demonstrating friendliness, that also includes setting appropriate boundaries to complete the tasks at hand.
