Job description
Position Summary:
Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Clinical Coordinator Reporting to the Medical Director, this position is responsible for assisting with the planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the unit administrative operations, clinical practice and educational activities within Health Services.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
- Provides administrative support to Student Health Services ( SHS ) including Health Center and Health Promotion Division by coordinating the administration of programs, projects, and/or processes and by organizing and coordinating SHS operations
- Prioritizes work, resolves routine conflicts and issues, and prepares and implements administrative guidelines and procedures for SHS
- Provides routine and non-routine information and explanations to all stakeholders
- Creates informational materials; provides general unit supporting research, analysis, and proposal data; prepares, processes, and controls records, statistics, reports and documents; and/or performs fiscal support functions
- Schedules appointments, arranges and coordinates design and logistics for events and meetings, and completes other work consistent with a broad understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the health center, and the tasks and responsibilities this role in the achievement of SHS goals
- May serve as liaison within and outside unit
- Works under general supervision, within established work parameters, with few direct instructions Carries out routine and non-routine tasks with occasional review of work outputs by supervisor Performs professional work that requires knowledge of general administrative/office management principles and practices and a good understanding, use, and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology, and applied bases of student health services administration
- Supervises front desk staff to ensure efficient, accurate, and appropriate delivery of services and administrative functioning at all times
- Works to ensure all supervisees are up-to-date with policies, procedures, and general operations of SHS

Minimum Education and Experience:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of medical office administration, work organization, coordination, facilitation, and/or report writing principles and practices.
- Also requires a minimum of two years' relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy.

Microsoft Office, Medicat and/or other EMRs, Ledger billing systems, 3rd party billing systems, Outlook, all Rutgers systems, RU Connect. Computerized Health Records (currently Medicat). Proficient in Microsoft Office, excel spreadsheets, Outlook, formulating reports and documents for quality improvement, medical equipment, electronic medical record, email, internet.
