Job description

The Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk is responsible for major financial accounting areas including AR, AP, and miscellaneous duties as needed. This person will play a key role in our accounting department and will work with a team of professional co-workers committed to excellence and accuracy. The ideal candidate has experience in a position of similar responsibility, and knowledge of accounts payable/receivable and general accounting procedures, including bank deposits, stock in vehicles and dealer trade paperwork. He or she must be detail-oriented and good with numbers and proficient with accounting software and with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receives, reconciles, and processes vendor invoices.
• Prepares customer invoices and credit batches.
• Prepares accounts payable checks and posts all open items in accounts payable on a daily basis.
• Reconciles statement and ledger and ensures payments are consistent with set schedules.
• Prints, analyzes, and distributes reports as requested by management.
• Ensures that all accounting transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Two years of experience in a business office environment with general accounting responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Experienced with business applications and accounting software.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff.
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Able to deal with confidential information appropriately.
• Strong data entry and management skills
• Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
• Highly professional and dependable

Requirements:

• Automotive Accounting and CDK experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Understand deadlines and be able to apply an appropriate sense of urgency to all tasks.
• Ability to work overtime as needed during Month End and 1st business day of each month.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Positive Attitude.
• A high school diploma or the equivalent College degree or equivalent experience.
• Pre-employment drug test / background check required, which will help assure we build a team of people who can best work with others and serve our customer's needs.

Pay Incentives * The Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of $22.00 to $25.00. The position also may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 to $500.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit.
