Job description

The Human Resources Administrative Assistant is responsible for o verseeing and administering leaves of absences, workers compensation , additional database management, and back up receptionist all in accordance with Racker’s vision and mission.
Rate of pay is between $17-$21 per hour, depending on experience. This position is fully benefits eligible.
- Oversee and administer the leaves of absence programs at Racker, including FMLA, NYS PFL, short- and long-term disability, communicating with supervisors, employees, payroll and all vendors, as appropriate .
- Trend, track and report on safety management, leaves of absences, and additional compliance standards
- Oversee and administer the agency’s workers compensation program
- Administers Racker’s unemployment program
- Act as main back up for receptionist by answering phones, greeting guests, and sorting agency mail.
- Provide frontline response as able and referral as necessary to both internal and external customers of the Human Resources Department
- Provide clerical support for the recruitment process, including assistance with agency orientation and onboarding
- Complete new hire clearances, including Staff Exclusion List, State Central Register and Approved Drivers.
- Data entry of employee information for Human Resources and payroll; additional database projects as required
- Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Working in the Human Resources field a plus
- Knowledge: A basic knowledge of NYS leaves processes and Workers’ Comp claims a plus.
- Skills/ Abilities: D emonstrat ed ability in administration, skills in interpersonal relationships; oral & written communication skills, analysis skills, integrity, ability to think innovatively, ability to multi-task, focus-minded, and to be flexible.
- Physical Requirements: A bility to operate standard office equipment.
