Job description

We are seeking Telephone Interviewers with the Institute for Policy and Opinion Research (IPOR) for a part-time position at our institution. IPOR conducts public opinion polls in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This entry-level opportunity allows you to connect with a broad scope of individuals, gathering valuable data for college operations and ongoing research programs. Virginia Residents Only. Work maybe performed on site at our Call Center or remote. For remote applicants must live in Virginia and are expected to possess more technology skills, such as being able to download and use software, such as Zoom. Access to a computer and phone at home (to login to our survey software and dialing system) is required for remote positions.

This position is anticipated to work seven days per month with more hours available in some months. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends

Job Responsibilities:

• Conducting telephone interviews to collect significant data related to ongoing research projects or other College initiatives
• Adhering strictly to the preset interview scripts and ensuring the highest level of data integrity
• Recording accurate and detailed notes of each telephone conversations
• Maintaining the confidentiality of the research participants and company information
• Assisting the supervisory team in any additional tasks related to the interviews

Desired Qualifications:

• A minimum of a High School Diploma
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Ability to adhere strictly to scripts and guidelines
• Prior customer service or telemarketing experience
• Proficient with computers and comfortable using database systems
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
