Job description
The Training Specialist teaches our clients how to utilize our software and hardware proprietary products and assists with the development of instructional material for courses that support our training program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce high-quality training material by working closely with our engineering department to release new product knowledge and updates.
- Implement current methods, best practices, and technologies to provide state-of-the-art learning experiences for our employees and customers.
- Assists with creating and modifying exams, quizzes, and hands-on assessments for customers, technicians, and in-house training.
- Updates and maintains content as needed in the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Schedule and conduct live training sessions for new and existing customers.
- Design interactive and multimedia learning environments for video implementation.
- Present information with various instructional techniques or formats, such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, etc.
- Knowledge of the different learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) for full engagement.
- Utilize multimedia technology and authoring tools for presentations and course development.
- Conduct and assist in analyzing training performance surveys to determine long-term effectiveness.
- Revise course outlines and curriculum as needed based on attendee feedback or product changes and enhancements.
- Perform various administrative tasks including but not limited to processing customer payments, setting up the classroom for incoming students, and ensuring training materials are sent to students and new customers prior to class.
- Manage the department’s emails and voicemail by responding to customer inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with developing training calendars, schedules, and other miscellaneous job-related duties, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a desire to train customers on proprietary products; consideration given to individuals with a minimum of an AA degree in an IT-related field, relevant IT certifications, or technical background.
- Experience with documentation, graphic design, or instructional design, a plus.
- Strong presentation, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Solid proofreading and editing skills.
- Ability to explain concepts to non-technical students.
- Ability to quickly gain a strong understanding of Syntech’s fuel management equipment, hardware, and software.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, and Confluence.
- Experience in multimedia development and authoring tools, a plus.
- Ability to become highly proficient with our Learning Management System.
- Ability to excel in a team-based environment, supporting the team’s success.
- Must have a good driving record and be willing to travel (approx. 5% of the time), as needed.
