Data Entry Specialist

Job Overview:

Ganahl Lumber Company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to join our team. As a Data Entry Specialist, you will play a crucial role in deciphering customer's bid information and inputting into our software. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional typing and 10-key skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and a commitment to meeting deadlines.

Data Entry Specialist duties and responsibilities:

1. Data Entry: Accurately input and update data into the company's databases and systems, including but not limited to inventory records, sales transactions, and customer information.
2. Quality Assurance: Review data for errors, inconsistencies, and discrepancies, and rectify any issues to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
3. Speed and Efficiency: Execute data entry tasks efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Meet or exceed daily and weekly data entry targets.
4. Record Maintenance: Assist in the organization and maintenance of digital and physical records to ensure easy access and retrieval of information.
5. Reporting: Generate reports as requested by various departments within the company using the data stored in the system.
6. Communication: Collaborate with colleagues and team members to ensure data-related tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
7. Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in data entry is a plus.
• Proven experience in data entry, preferably in a fast-paced business environment.
• Proficiency in typing and 10-key skills with a focus on speed and accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors and discrepancies.
• Familiarity with data entry software and systems (e.g., Microsoft Excel, databases) is a  plus.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of the lumber industry is a bonus but not required.
