Golf Shop Assistant
Golf Course in Gypsum, Colorado is looking for a Golf Shop Assistant.
Position Overview:
Responsible for greeting customers as they sign in to play golf, collect fees, registration of players, assigning tee times to golfers, and the sale and stocking of pro shop items.
Duties:
• Answer telephone, record incoming calls, and take starting time reservations.
• Register players and assign them their tee time, making sure all golfers sign the daily register.
• Collect all money for green fees, programs, rental, pro shop sales and issue receipts for all transactions.
• Maintain general order and cleanliness in the pro shop.
• Maintain daily records and reports.
• Serve as a general source of information to players and visitors.
• Remain courteous and professional with patrons.
• Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of Town of Gypsum safety program.
• Work as a team player with co-workers and supervisors
• Assist with golf cart rentals as needed.
• Maintain a constant presence in the golf shop.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate information between all areas of the golf operation.
• Immediately notifies supervisor if there is an issue on the course and reports all incidents and injuries to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Working knowledge of basic computer programs.
Knowledge of golf course procedures & equipment is preferred but not required.
Must be available to work unsupervised at times.
Must be available to read, write and organize information.
Establish successful working relationships internally as well as externally.
Effectively deal with angry, irate, or disgruntled customers.
Must be available to work weekends, holidays and evenings.
Math skills necessary to process sales transactions.
Merchandising and golf shop operations.
Must be physically capable of operating vehicles safely, possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for Town business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a Town vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.
Must successfully pass a background check.
High School Education.
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
One to three months related experience and or/training in a golf course setting.
Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Compensation:
$18 – $23 per hour.
