Summary

Working within the Center for Professional Pathways, the Coordinator is responsible for developing, growing and maintaining a clearinghouse of internship, practicum, and fellowship experiences for students. The Coordinator will also serve as the administrative coordinator for the Magellan Project. This staff member will work with faculty departments and alumni relations to identify these high impact experience opportunities and will assist a team of Student Success Consultants (SSCs), Pathway Advisors, and faculty in connecting students with these experiences. The Coordinator will develop and maintain an assessment process for students engaged in practicum/internship work, as well as serve as a point of contact for these off-campus supervisors. The Coordinator must be a strong communicator, work strategically using best practices toward the education of the whole student, and exhibit joy in working with students and colleagues.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for intern awards such as the Maxwell Internship Award; assist with the promotion, selection, and administration of the program. Liaise with members of the selection committee. Develop and maintain a dynamic database of internship, practicum, and student teaching opportunities.
• Promote and schedule interest sessions for fellowships and merit-based awards in partnership with academic departments.
• Promote and track student participation in pathway experiences such as internships, practicum, student teaching, and other fieldwork.
• Serve as the point of contact for internship and practicum sites hosting W&J students.
• Assist faculty, Pathway Advisors, and SSCs in connecting students with viable opportunities.
• Serve as the administrative coordinator for the Magellan Project.
• Collaborate with Alumni Relations, Professional Pathways staff, and faculty to cultivate options for students.
• Serves on College-wide committees as appropriate.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of professional experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline is required; Master's degree is preferred.
• Passionate about working with College students and supporting developmental experiences.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, technical, and written communication skills with the ability to work closely with a diverse group of students and colleagues.
• Proven experience in event planning, social media planning, and the development of presentations and publications is helpful.
