SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Operations Engineering Specialist - SAM leads an efficient team that builds and tests component assemblies and final product to targeted goals while maintaining a high-quality standard. This position will require collaboration with the R&D and Application & Field Service Team to implement new products, product updates and process updates. The Operations Engineering Specialist - SAM is expected to embrace IDEX’s Core Values and the IDEX Difference while leading by example.
REPORTS TO : Modules & SAM Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to all company EH&S policies and procedures. Report any safety and maintenance needs to supervisor.
Consistently produce work of proper quality and required quantity.
Collaborates with purchasing and planning to identify possible risks and mitigate any risks by looking for alternative solutions.
Scales the department while maintaining or improving quality to support future growth.
Performs final quality review before release of units to ship.
Work with commercial team to identify spikes in demand to provide forecasting to purchasing team that drives proper stocking levels.
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Develop existing talent and train new talent as required in the work cell.
Ability to find, read, understand, and update all applicable (English) instructions, including work orders and bill of materials.
Build to detailed procedures, cross sections or from general instructions and acceptable mechanical practices. Work with engineers on issues as needed.
Must display an attention to detail attitude. Detect and correct errors. Make repairs and adjustments as required to pass inspection.
Complete required documentation on time as required.
Lead and participate in quality or continuous improvement projects as required.
Lead and participate in required meetings.
Meet or exceed on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost goals thru proper scheduling, removing obstacles, proper allocation of resources, and driving cadence.
Use JDE and other software as needed.
Professionally interact with team members, internal customers, and external customers. Develop and sustain strong relationships with other departments.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:
Pump, module, harness, and electronic knowledge preferred.
A sense of pride in one’s work and a sense of urgency to get it done.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
Strong organizational skills.
Previous experience leading people or proven aptitude to lead.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5-10 years’ experience in high mix, low volume manufacturing preferred.
1+ years of previous supervisor experience preferred.
JDE experience.
MS Excel and MS Word experience.
SolidWorks preferred.
Competent in the use of computer systems.
Print and wire diagram reading experience required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Shop Environment:
Lifting up to 50lbs.
Wearing the required PPE 100% of the time.
Indoor and outdoor work as necessary.
