Responsibilities



Responsible for scheduling graduate-level student and teaching schedules, including coordinating with the graduate faculty and undergraduate program manager to prevent scheduling conflicts. Oversees the building of the JMC graduate courses in the appropriate FSU systems, managing graduate student or applicant complaints or issues, ensuring first-day attendance compliance. Coordinates with the Assistant Director of Academic Services to prepare the annual academic budget for graduate programs. Responsible for researching and benchmarking peer institutions and creating recommendations to the Assistant Director of Academic Services pertaining to program updates and/or new programs. Ensures textbook compliance procedures for graduate courses. Oversees bi-annual curriculum meetings with faculty and the JMC Dean.

Manages and coordinates all graduate admissions and advising for the college. Attends recruiting events, graduate admissions and advising webinars, and most notably, the Graduate Enrollment Management Committee meetings. Responsible for recruitment services, including communications with Athletics office, providing tours, etc. Maintains workflows for the graduate admissions and advising processes, and creates new, more efficient workflows where possible. Provide students with academic, career and personal resources. Oversees JMC Admissions Committee. Plans and executes graduate orientations.

Responsible for coordinating academic administrative support for the Jim Moran College’s entire Academic office, to include course building, managing curriculum requests, coordinating scholarships with administrative team, room scheduling, and other special projects. Provides reports to the Dean and/or Assistant Director's office as requested. Works with central offices across FSU campus to provide timely and meaningful reports, data, and communications, as requested.

Works with the staff and faculty within the Shaw building to ensure that inventory is well-stocked. Responsible for overseeing graduate assistants, ensuring timely processing of tuition waivers, and that all GA pre-requisites are met, including PIE and other training. Meets with research faculty to ensure both their needs and GA needs are met. Work with Marketing and Events Manager to coordinate graduate graduation party and other graduate student events.

Responsible for ensuring that mutually defined and agreed upon services are provided, assisting with JMC events and special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

Student advising experience.

The Jim Moran College is seeking a candidate who is a skilled collaborator, possesses excellent communication abilities, and has experience advising students. Previous experience in advising students at the graduate level is preferred. This role requires effective communication with various stakeholders and necessitates timely and frequent coordination to ensure success.

What is a typical day like?

The typical day will vary during the semester. It will include scheduling graduate-level student and teaching schedules, managing graduate student complaints or issues, coordinating graduate admissions and advising, coordinating academic administrative support for Jim Moran College’s entire Academic office, and ensuring mutually defined services are provided.

What is expected in the first 60-90 days?

In the first 60-90 days, this position will be expected to attend various training relevant to their job duties. They will regularly meet with graduate students, faculty, and staff to learn about our programs and processes, as well as begin helping with coordinating admissions, classes, etc.

Anticipated Salary Range



The minimum starting salary for this position is in the mid $40,000's. Anticipated starting salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
