Summary of Duties:

Under the direction of the Department Director, manages Maintenance Services Unit operations, to include; Building maintenance, HVAC controls, and life safety services, and motor pool/grounds equipment at WSU Health Sciences, Spokane and other areas as needed.

Provides leadership, oversight, and is accountable for the allocation of resources while also responsible for program results. Responsible for project management; ensuring projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner, facilitating productive communication while providing project updates at established intervals, ensuring safety protocols are followed and safety concerns are addressed. Monitors and controls the Maintenance Services Unit's budget, while also assisting with budget development for the department.

Duties include personally developing and administering maintenance, control, and life safety policies, procedures, record keeping systems, communications, and responding as needed to campus and building maintenance concerns and/or emergencies at all hours.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Supervision: 65%




Budget & Purchasing: 15%




Project Administration: 10%




Maintenance & Repair: 5%

Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Monthly Salary: $5,485.73 - $7,673.08 | Commensurate on qualifications and experience.

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
