Job description
SUMMARY:
Assists buyers with day to day operations. Interacts with suppliers to maintain pricing and delivery schedules.
Maintain inventory item database with correct pricing and information.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain inventory item database by uploading and maintaining correct costs and sell prices.
- Research and enter item attributes in accordance with vendor information and company standards.
- Place purchase orders including special orders and drop ship orders.
- Handle invoice discrepancies to ensure vendor is paid and that inventory is correct.
- Handle Receiving/inventory issues to ensure correct product received.
- Work with buyers and sales teams on availability and pricing of products.
- Review and approve Voucher Packages when Lead is out.
- Reconcile discrepancies on purchase orders.
- Obtain price protection from vendor when applicable.
- Run regular buyer reports for inventory review, etc.
- Assist in Advertising prep and proofing of catalog / fliers / emails when buyer is unavailable.
- Coordinate with Marketing and run spreadsheets for catalog build.
- Responsible for Dealer Show spreadsheets and maintaining checks and balances for time line due dates.
- Be point of contact for other departments with any issues that falls under the buyers' purview.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Working knowledge of Office and Windows environment
- High level of attention to detail and organization skills
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- 2+ years of purchasing experience. Accounting and inventory experience also helpful
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years purchasing experience.
