eLearning Designer (Contract)

Job description
Discovery Education is looking for a contract eLearning Designer to join our Product. This position will work directly with our professional learning team, which creates dynamic synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for teachers who use Discovery Education products. The ideal candidate will have experience in using Articulate (Storyline, Rise) to create highly engaging and interactive learning experiences for adults. In addition, the eLearning designer must have an advanced skillset in using storytelling to create short and engaging videos using tools like Vyond. This is remote, part-time work with Magnit Global, so the ability to work in a fast-paced, virtual environment is a must.
This is a part time contract role.
Below are the core responsibilities for an eLearning designer for professional learning:
- Instructional Design: Develop instructional materials, including eLearning modules, interactive simulations, videos, assessments, and other multimedia elements, based on sound instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
- Content Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze learning objectives and content requirements; then design and develop engaging and interactive eLearning content that aligns with identified goals and learner needs.
- Multimedia Production: Utilize multimedia authoring tools, graphic design software, and video editing platforms to create visually appealing and interactive learning experiences, incorporating animations, graphics, audio, and video elements as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in designing and developing engaging and effective eLearning solutions for adults.
- Strong background in instructional design, multimedia development, and learning technologies.
- Experience in eLearning design and development, with a strong portfolio showcasing eLearning projects and multimedia content; excellent visual design skills and proficiency in graphic design.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Multimedia Design, or related field; equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- Extensive experience and advanced skills using the following:
- Articulate Storyline
- Vyond (or similar video creation tool)
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Microsoft tools
- Excellent written and oral communication as well as strong interpersonal skills .
- Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks.
- Legal right to work in the United States
