Job description
Network Engineer
Applicant must have 3 years of relevant experience with the following:
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Considerable experience in customer support, including problem definition and resolution for both network hardware and software.
- Considerable experience with Cisco router and switches and Aruba wireless technologies.
- Considerable experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools..
- Considerable knowledge and experience configuring DNS and DHCP.
- Demonstrated In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF).
- Considerable experience administering campus/organization LAN/WAN environment, including wireless access points.
- Demonstrated hands-on network troubleshooting experience.
- . A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
- 2-5 years experience administering Cisco and Aruba campus/organization LAN/WAN environment.
- Technical knowledge of current network technologies, protocols, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research related to networking issues and products as required.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to present technical information in a user-friendly manner.
- Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS) - Mist is a plus
- Solid background in network administration and architecture.
- Experience with access control models and network security.
- VoIP, Mitel and experience building call patterns preferred.
- Industry certifications such as CCNP preferred.
