About the Role: Job Summary The Executive Director of Cardiology Services Invasive/Non Invasive is responsible and accountable for both the clinical quality and financial viability of the Inpatient and Outpatient Invasive and Non Invasive Heart and Vascular Services including Cardiac Cath Labs, Electrophysiology Labs, associated Prep and Recovery and the Endovascular Operating Rooms, ECHO Vascular, Stress. Works in collaboration with the Director of Cardiology Services Non-Invasive to align imaging strategy to support Invasive Services. Providing subject matter leadership and visibility across all campuses. Responsibility includes the vision, direction, management and coordination of clinical invasive cardiac services, and vascular operations through the Health System continuum of care; development of business decisions; coordination and facilitation of marketing, public relations and financial results.
Minimum Job Qualifications - Licensure or other certifications: Current Georgia RN license
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required with a Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or Business Administration required.
- Minimum Experience: Five to seven years progressive experience in managing and coordinating Heart and Vascular services with exposure to operations, marketing, finance, managed care, and physician relationships.

Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - The Director of the Heart and Vascular Service Line should be articulate, decisive and a strong take charge leader who has effective interpersonal skills to develop teamwork among a variety of specialists.
- He/she should be a polished communicator and listener.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities - Ensures the clinical quality and financial viability of Heart and Vascular services.
- Develops and recommends new policies necessary to enhance heart and vascular services.
- Provides strategic direction to departments and is held accountable for the achievement of strategic and tactical goals and objectives. Provide project leadership when growth or remodeling projects are identified to keep them on time and under budget.
- Develops annual goals and objectives for the departments consistent with the strategic planning and direction set by the Vice President of Heart and Vascular Services
- Coordinates the development and implementation of financial plans consistent with the overall mission and strategic direction of NGHS.
- Coordinate the budget preparation process for all operational segments of the departments and monitor success thereof.
- Develop and implement an annual business plan that includes identification of growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive factors consistent with the overall strategic direction of NGHS.
- Coordinate ongoing analysis and present periodic reports on the departments including quality, costs, profitability, physician utilization, market share, as well as potential opportunities and problems.
- Maintain active participation in appropriate regional, state and national professional health management and clinical associations.
- In conjunction with Service Line development and offerings, contribute to the overall Community Benefit impact of NGHS.
- Responsible for achieving "Best Practice" models and benchmark departmental indicators, including clinical, financial, marketing and operational outcomes; as identified jointly with Finance, Quality Improvement and Regional Development.
- Facilitate the development of department specific marketing and public relations, and sales activities and monitor outcome effectiveness.
- Promotes harmonious interdepartmental relationships and cooperation to enhance teamwork and cohesiveness throughout the organization and the region.
- Promotes a culture of customer service focused on patients, families, visitors, physicians, other departments and the community.
- Conduct regular departmental rounds to engage with team members and encourage change when necessary to improve services and ensure compliance with established standards and procedures. Provide guidance with consultation to staff in problem solving and addressing resistance to change.
- Promote excellent internal and public relations, participating in interdepartmental and community education programs and functioning as the cardiovascular spokesperson as necessary.
- Effectively execute plans and implement change, reflecting strategic agility to evaluate and select best strategies, gather and organize information, perform data analysis, develop timelines, and measure results to make necessary adjustments.
- Direct and coordinate day to day clinical operation activities of the departments, ensuring smooth and effective patient flow through the system.
- Access, achieve and maintain a high level of customer service satisfaction.
- Ensure that all operational aspects of the departments are in compliance with the standards of appropriate accreditation and licensing agencies, including but not limited to DNV and professional societies.
- Actively participate and, when appropriate, take the lead in negotiating and developing long term relationships with physicians and physician groups, managed care payers, and other influential organizations as they relate to services at NGHS.
- Assure the proper assessment of new technology balancing patient outcomes with costs, revenue enhancement, and marketing opportunities. Take an active role (in collaboration with materials management) to negotiating contracts with vendors to keep expense in line with operations.
- Develop education for physicians, patients, and staff relative to the department's component of services with emphasis on primary care physicians and the community at large.
- Provide innovation to business approaches, being proactive to identify new opportunities and strive for improvements, while effectively overcoming barriers impacting performance, managing complexities, and assessing alternatives for optimum outcomes.
- Ensure that appropriate levels of qualified (clinical, technical, and customer-oriented) personnel are employed in the departments to provide quality patient care.
