Job description
Role - Interim Director of Medical Records (HIM)
Location: Canton, MA
Start Date ASAP
Pay- $80-$88/hr on w2
Duration 3 months (extendable)
Onsite M-F either 8-4pm or 9-5pm (40 hours/week) and no weekends & holidays
Overall Responsibility for the INTERIM DIRECTOR, MEDICAL RECORDS (HIM):
Plans, organizes, and directs Health Information activities throughout the Hospital. Ensures the proper coding of patient data and assists the medical staff with documentation to assure compliance with & CMS certification, state licensure and The Joint Commission accreditation. Oversees all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of and adherence to the organization's policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, patient health information in compliance with federal laws and PRHC's information privacy practices. Prepares and certifies hospital statistical reports.
Review/Revise dept policies and procedures with HIM best practices according to state, federal, and regulatory compliance standards
Committee participation/facilitation, including but not limited to, Information Management Committee, Quality & Patient Safety Committee, & Policy Oversight Committee
CPT code entry from encounter forms into charge entry electronic system
Manage correspondence and release of information (ROI) process of HIM Dept. according to state, federal, and regulatory compliance standards
Manage deficiency and delinquency internal reporting of medical record entries and compiling data for Quality & Patient Safety Committee
Participate as lead for HIM modules during electronic health record (EHR) workshops
