Job description

GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK

Middle School Cadet Program is a sequence of middle school courses and a supplemental after-school program that prepares young people for secondary and post-secondary pathways. Through intensive leadership development, students gain the confidence, teamwork, and critical thinking skills necessary for future success. The Program also promotes healthy and balanced lifestyle choices, active goal setting, more effective relationships, and meaningful community involvement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be a retired United States Navy Non-Commissioned Officer. Bachelor's degree preferred. Must be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License and meet the minimum qualifications required by the Department of Military Forces. Must possess effective instructional delivery techniques, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate students to excel.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The physical requirements described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The physical agility to lift to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
10 months (200 days)

EVALUATION
Performance evaluation will be conducted annually by the School Principal on the effectiveness by which the employee has carried out the above responsibilities.
