PURPOSE:
The Senior Project Manager, working within the Finance Data Systems and Decision Support department, is a highly motivated professional responsible for coordinating the project development efforts of the department, establishing governance around best practice policies and data management, as well as supporting the evaluation of business processes to support the Finance division to achieve their goals.
The Senior Project Manager will work as a liaison and point of contact between the business stakeholders and the development team resources to facilitate discussions and address questions during the process improvement lifecycle.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for tracking the overall workload of projects and work activity for the Finance Data Systems and Decision Support utilizing appropriate project management tools (i.e. JIRA). On larger projects, the candidate will be expected to apply key project management fundamentals to the process to keep projects on time and on budget. The candidate must be driven, self-motivated and able to proactively manage the project portfolio for the department to ensure the customers needs are met within established deadlines and clear roadblocks as needed.
The Senior Project Manager must possess a high degree of interpersonal communication skills and be comfortable interacting with associates at all levels of the organization, up to and including EVP. This position will also be responsible for preparing executive-level briefings and presentations on the portfolio status of projects in this area. The candidate must be highly capable of bridging the communication needs of business to technical and technical to business with a level of comfort and familiarity with both areas.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing the overall production management processes for the production environments. This includes source control oversight in Azure DevOps, production change control, deployment oversight as well as SOPs and policy oversight and maintenance.
The Senior Project Manager will also be expected to have familiarity with core data engineering concepts and be able to formulate and help to manage a robust data governance framework for the department. The candidate will be able to speak fluently in data engineering terms and concepts and be able to play an active and contributing role to the development of the governance process and not simply be a facilitator. The candidate will develop and maintain data documentation resources such as data dictionary, ERDs and other data artifacts.
The Senior Project Manager is encouraged to have a robust understanding of the health care business and is strongly encouraged to quickly improve on this business knowledge to perform analysis and design more independently to develop automated solutions and processes for the business.
The Senior Project Manager is expected to learn and understand the fundamentals of financial/operational accounting, as well as key concepts around financial planning and analysis to support stakeholders within the business. This includes becoming familiar with financial terminology and basic calculations as well as with the underlying health care data being used to develop solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:QUALFICIATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Project Management, Business or related field, OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
