Job description
Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions is a precision CNC manufacturing organization with expertise in multi-axis machining of metal parts with complex geometries. We produce machined parts for the automotive, aerospace, military, medical and industrial industries. We are searching for a cost accountant to join our team. This individual will analyze and report on the costs and profitability of our products, services, and operations. They will also help to plan and control the company's budget and expenses.
Responsibilities:
- Collecting and maintaining data on the company's costs and revenues as reported via work orders
- Developing and implementing cost accounting systems and methods
- Determine fixed costs (salaries, rent, insurance) to properly identify overhead costs
- Set standard costs of manufactured goods
- Plan and record variable costs (purchase of raw materials and operating costs)
- Calculating and monitoring the standard and actual costs of production and operation. Review costs for inaccuracies. Assist with accurate month-end and year-end closings.
- Analyze and report profit margins for parts, customers and business units to direct sales focus on most profitable business
- Preparing and presenting cost analysis and variance reports monthly, quarterly and annually
- Assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities
- Recommend cost-effective solutions and improvements
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles and software
- Computer literacy, MS Excel, especially pivot tables and VLOOKUPS
- Excellent time management skills
- Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in related field
