Program Director - Family Medicine Residency (Santa Maria, CA)
Marian Regional Medical Center, a large community hospital of Common Spirit Health is seeking a Program Director to lead our Family Medicine Residency program! Located on the beautiful Central Coast of CA (Santa Barbara County), this is a wonderful opportunity for a Physician leader to join a growing and dynamic program while living in one of the most beautiful areas in the country!
Duties:
- Residency Education Administration including general oversight of all curricular areas (except that of Osteopathic Recognition)
- Develops and coordinates resident curricula including leading the Program Evaluation Committee
- Oversees policies and procedures for the residency and collaborates with the residency program director and the residency program coordinator to ensure compliance with Marian Regional Medical Center, ACGME, ABFM and ABOFP requirements.
- Oversee resident evaluation processes as the head of the Clinical Competency Committee, and work with the PD to determine strategies for helping residents who are experiencing difficulties and when appropriate, assist in developing remediation plans.
- With the program coordinator, prepare resident rotation schedules including helping negotiate with other residency programs and practice sites.
- Identify and collaborate with program leadership on grant proposals appropriate to the maintenance and improvement of the residency program. Provide administrative oversight to residency educational grants including budget management, grant evaluation, and progress reporting
- In concert with the APD and program coordinator, plan and assist with the residency applicant recruitment process.
- Strategize developing the residency program operating budget and monitoring the financial operations of the residency
- Working with the APD to provide direction to the faculty and residents on program priorities, areas for improvement, and growth. Help organize the annual program retreat and strategic planning.
- Coordinate the faculty development program
- Participate in the education and training of residents in areas of expertise.
- General oversight of scholarly and quality improvement projects of the residents.
- Participate in educational research and demonstration projects within the FMRP.?

Requirements:
- Ability to work in the United States
- Graduate of ACGME program
- Board certified in Family Medicine
- Active CA unrestricted license or ability to obtain
- Active DEA license or ability to obtain
- Ability to work in the United States
- Program Directorship is strongly preferred but not required
- APD or faculty experience required
- Strong communication skills
