Position Summary

Under general supervision, operate a telephone console to service incoming calls, provide general information to callers and facilitate a smooth flow to the warehouse for customer order picking.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:

• Operate multi-line switchboard equipment in order to transfer and answer incoming calls
• Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
• Determine intent of caller and make appropriate connection
• Sort and distribute incoming mail
• Greet people entering the building, answering any questions, providing directions and alerting staff when someone is there to meet or visit them
• Train new receptionist in performance job duties
• Scan and assign customer orders
• Process and assign Will Call orders
• Manifest truck deliveries
• Perform order lookups
• Process and assign cut and shearing orders
• Utilize order dashboard to assign orders to a scan gun
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

• High School diploma preferred
• 2 years of clerical, administrative or customer service experience
• Experience in fishing/boating industry preferred but not required
• Strong phone customer service skills
• Proactive customer service, excellent communication and follow up, detail oriented, motivated, self-starter with a high work ethic along with good analytical problem solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and experienced working with computers and the ability to learn, navigate and use designated software programs as required to perform job functions
• Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment and have the ability to interact professionally and positively with others within the department and organization
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, bend, kneel, lifting heavy boxes and putting them into storage
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
