This temporary position is located in Black Mountain, NC - Buncombe County. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $100.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services This position is located at 201 Tabernacle Road., Black Mountain, NC 28711
This is professional psychiatric work providing direct patient care involving provision of evaluation, diagnosis and treatment services to an assigned patient caseload within the facilities and programs of state or local agencies. Employees serve in a variety of professional medical roles including general psychiatry, child and adolescence psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, geriatrics and forensics psychiatry. Employees may serve on interdisciplinary treatment teams and committees and act as a consultant to other medical/clinical staff or as a liaison to agencies concerned with the welfare of the patient population. Work may include the guidance and supervision of psychiatric residents and fellows. While work is performed with independent professional responsibility, employees are generally accountable to a director of mental health.

NOTE: "See Resume" is not acceptable to show work history. - Thorough knowledge of psychiatric theory, principles, and techniques, and practices of general, preventive medicine and of the techniques involved in the field of mental health.
- Thorough knowledge of biological, social, and psychological developmental processes at all ages.
- Thorough knowledge of the practice and theories of the medical specialty or subspecialty to which assigned to a wide range of medical, behavioral, and psychological disorders.
- Skill in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders.
- Ability to assess and interpret laboratory results, clinical data and information relative to the patient's condition.
- Ability to compile clear and concise notes for patient's charts and to make oral presentations of cases in medical conferences.
- Ability to supervise and guide work performance of psychiatric residents and fellows.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associate personnel, patients, and their families, and the general public.
