Job description
Basic Function
Responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, executive control and completion of organizational projects while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments and goals of the organization.
*Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards, and assessing risks.
- Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation.
- As needed, develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and researchers as necessary.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage the relationship with all stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors' Degree preferred.
- Project Management qualification (PMP), certified associate in project management (CAPM) (PMP) required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Problem solving and leadership skills.
- Solid written and oral communications and superior interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Conflict resolution experience.
- Experience with strategic planning and implementation.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in general GSIL events and activities.
- Maintain professional knowledge/skills by reviewing professional literature and attending trainings/workshops.
- Support and uphold GSIL policies and procedures, workplace regulations and safety practices.
- Other duties as assigned that will increase options for persons with disabilities to live independently in their communities.
*Physical /Mental Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to sit, use a computer, a telephone, and other office equipment and to move throughout the building and attend outside meetings. Employee may occasionally need to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects (e.g. files or presentation materials). This position requires the ability to express or exchange ideas and to comprehend and present detailed and critical information including but not limited to financial information. Exceptional judgement and creativity are regularly required to evaluate results and make decisions.
