Sylvan Learning Center - Assistant Director

Sylvan Learning Center is a leading provider of top-quality teaching in the NWA area. With our certified teachers and interactive technology, we ensure that students are fully engaged and receive the exact learning they need. As an Assistant Director, you will play a crucial role in providing a positive first impression for potential and existing customers, scheduling appointments, and assisting with the day-to-day administrative tasks in the Center. You will also have the opportunity to connect with schoolteachers to ensure the application of skills learned in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day administrative tasks such as phone reception, word processing, data entry, and filing
• Greet and assist students, parents, and potential customers according to Sylvan standards
• Ensure timely and high-quality customer service response to all calls and walk-in inquiries
• Assist Center Director with running the Center and maintaining its appearance
• Support standards and procedures to ensure student safety and well-being
• Assist teachers with preparation for instruction and help throughout the instructional period
• Help with conference activities and local advertising materials
• Manage and deliver assessments according to Sylvan standards
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with teachers, customers, and the general public
• Maintain Center Motivation Station and order materials
• Inventory and ordering of office supplies

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
• Minimum of one year's experience in an office or educational setting
• Interest in or knowledge of current educational practices
• Familiarity with technology including iPads and Microsoft Suite Software
• Experience with social media platforms
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn
