Position Summary:
Rings up purchases, collects money, and makes change for employees and visitors who utilize the Carle Health Methodist Hospital retail cafeteria.
Qualifications:
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
ANSI Accredited Food Handler Certification within 30 days.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
- Work may occasionally require travel to other facilities/hospitals.

Essential Functions:
- Completes job responsibilities of cashier.* Stays up to date on all prices* Charges all customers correctly* Makes change to all customers correctly
- Maintains high standards consistent with quality food service operations* Operates cash register in a smooth and timely manner* Counts and maintains accuracy with large sums of money* Keeps "over/short" less than $3.00 per shift* Is pleasant and courteous to all customers at all times* Serves 6 customers per minute during busy periods
- Works cooperatively with peers, supervisors, food service management and other medical center personnel.* Makes coffee during slow times* Cleans tables during slow times* Helps other employees* Answers customer questions promptly or finds out the answer by asking manager or process coordinator* Fulfills Carle Health and department required annual education of 6 to 8 hours per year
- Accepts responsibility for work area and duties of other positions when required* Stocks condiment area at all times* Assures that silverware is never out* Learns all stations in the retail cafeteria* Is flexible to help cover for absent employees or employees on leave* Assures that napkins never run out and that back up napkin dispensers are ready when needed Keeps condiment area, both counter and floor, "litter free" and clean at all times
