The Strategic Sourcing team at The Walt Disney Company establishes relationships with key executives, advises on market engagement to identify the best supplier partners, and leads deal negotiations, helping to optimize cross segment supplier relationships. You will work on a wide variety of initiatives across multiple lines of business that will keep the role exciting, exposing you to many new technologies and suppliers in the Media and Entertainment ecosystem and enabling your growth in critical thinking, category management, relationship building, creative problem solving, process improvement, innovation sourcing, and other key skills that will develop you as a strong business leader. You will also be tasked with developing subject-matter expertise, through research, networking, leading key projects and forming relationships with leaders in the various fields. What You Will Do
The focus of this role is to partner with business collaborators across the enterprise to make thoughtful sourcing decisions in selecting suppliers to maximize the value of our annual spend for Technology, and to mitigate risks through smart contract negotiations. This includes running RFP’s, negotiating enterprise & segment level deals, leading supplier relationships, recommending best-in-class suppliers & innovations, facilitating process improvements and bringing partners across the segments together for collaboration and maximising opportunities. We serve as the connective tissue across the segments, creating broader opportunities than what is possible at the segment level.
The Sourcing Specialist will be accountable for leading and supporting sourcing initiatives/projects as part of Sourcing’s Annual Operating Plan with each respective Business Segment and will be accountable for delivering against them. The individual will also provide input on sourcing strategies that drive value and efficiency. This position will ensure consistency in approach and quality and depth of analysis during the sourcing process.
Contributes to a Category or Segment Sourcing team and is accountable for operationalizing and implementing Sourcing Strategies
Contribute to structured negotiations following pre-defined Strategic Sourcing methodology.
Assists in the development and execution of performance management programs with suppliers that focus on quality, responsiveness, and cost.
Evaluate supplier fit based on pre-determined selection criteria and incorporate diverse supplier as applicable.
Evaluates total cost/supply analysis and conduct spend data cleanse to identify cost reduction opportunities and support critical initiatives.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of vendor and spend analytics, creation of vendor profiles, and other relevant sourcing documents.
Apply market research tools and platforms to analyze market conditions, develop comprehensive market reports and provide valuable insights to drive effective category strategy.
Communicate and report to management the status of any critical external relationships that could affect planning and decision.
Participate in cross-functional sourcing projects with key internal partners.
Develop, implement, and lead RFI/RFP’s process for various goods and professional services, in accordance with The Walt Disney Company policy and procedures.
Prepare and implement contracts as well as perform post-award contract management.
Ensure compliance with Sourcing and Procurement policies and standard processes.
Demonstrate exemplary integrity and ethics in all instances.
Required Qualifications & Skills
A minimum two years of relevant work experience in a Strategic Sourcing or Business environment
Strong analytical/project management skills.
Excellent communicator able to demonstrate communicating effectively with senior management.
High-energy, self-motivated with a desire to excel in a multi collaborator environment.
Deliverable-focused, with strong work ethic
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement and Category Management processes/methodologies.
Capable of leading multiple initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the Media and/or Entertainment Industry
Experience in a Technology environment
Technical and/or Sourcing expertise in one or more relevant areas of technology, such as digital content management, application development and/or maintenance, service-based solutions (e.g., SaaS, IaaS, etc.), global telecommunications, social media platforms, customer relationship management, etc.
Experience implementing projects against category plans.
Experience with Coupa, SAP and Sourcing Project Mgmt. Systems
Education
Bachelor's degree in relevant area such as supply chain management, engineering or business or equivalent work experience required
MBA or Master’s Degree in another quantitative field

The hiring range for this position in NYC is $86,700 – $108,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT or Burbank, CA is $84,600 - $103,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered
