Job description
Position Summary:
The Truck Driver is responsible for transporting loads to and from the company’s yard. This position will be based in Hunker, PA.
Essential Functions:
Driving loads to and from the yard utilizing a flatbed trailer.
Strapping and unstrapping loads onto the truck.
Moving items utilizing a forklift.
Washing and cleaning the truck.
Performing light mechanical work on the truck.
Hooking and unhooking the trailer on the truck.
Lifting items up to and including 50 pounds in weight.
Preparing/maintaining appropriate logs and documents.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must have an active and valid Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a good driving record.
Proven work experience as a flatbed truck driver.
Experience driving a lowboy preferred.
Experience strapping and unstrapping loads and hooking and unhooking the trailer required.
Forklift experience required; certification preferred.
Experience in maintenance and care of trucks preferred.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
Pre-employment drug screen and background checks are required.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
At least two (2) years of experience driving a flatbed trailer.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting while driving the truck.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to strap and unstrap loads onto the truck.
Must be able to stand, walk, crouch, crawl, and carry occasionally.
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, balance, and climb regularly.
Must be able to reach and handle objects frequently.
