In this role you will lead all development and implementation activities for next generation cleansing formulas for #1 Liquid hand soap brand in the USA, Softsoap and Irish Spring Body wash. You will work in a highly collaborative role, partnering closely with marketing, supply chain, and quality partners in overall process, quality improvements, and growth opportunities for the success of business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and lead the development of new products and technologies based on standard processes in product development including experimental design, measurement science and formulation fundamentals
- Actively participate and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Insights, Supply Chain, Legal, Regulatory, Product Safety and Quality) to develop and validate new products and ensure detailed implementation and commercialization
- Independently lead multiple product design and full development initiatives and effectively uses both internal and external resources to achieve project objectives
- Lead and develop a team of scientist(s), while providing guidance and support in performing project deliverables
- Build and maintain all required documentation such as Project Timelines, SOP’s, Registration documents, Tech Transfer checklists, NODs, Change Control documents, Technical Justifications, Formula Databases, and Claims support
- Help develop and implement R&D strategies aligned with overall business goals.
- Actively support manufacturing plants in solving technical problems during the manufacturing process
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of Research and Development experience within CPG or similar field required
Knowledge of surfactants, colloid chemistry, and surfactant-polymer interactions is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in strong project planning and leadership skills
- In-depth understanding of quality management and manufacturing complexity in product design
- Ability to communicate across the organization, including succinctly communicating technical details to non technical business partners
- Familiarity with managing intellectual property and statistical design of experiments
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $135,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

- Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
- Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
- Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
- Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
