Job description
Head Junior Varsity Cheerleading Coach at Glenvar High School:
Glenvar High School is a VHSL Class 2A School, and member of the Three Rivers District (TRD) and Region 2C. This position reports directly to the Head Varsity Cheer Coach and Athletic Director The Head JV Cheerleading Coach will work directly with the Head Varsity cheer coach to assist in student-athlete development and academic progress, game-day operations, one home cheer competition, gym maintenance and prep, organizing and leading practices, training sessions, and workouts. This position is responsible for Fall sideline, Fall competition, and Winter sideline. Preferred Qualifications: • Proven integrity and leadership. • Exemplary communication and public relations skills. • High ideals, good habits, and desirable attitudes in personal behavior and the ability to demand the same standards of students participating in the GHS Cheerleading program. • A strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes. • Experience as a high school or collegiate cheerleader and/or coach, official, or travel team coach. • Demonstrated participation in a successful cheer program. • Ability to prepare and conduct safe and effective in-season and out-of-season training based around teaching the fundamentals and skills necessary for cheerleading. • Ability to provide clear expectations of conduct and communicate team rules accordingly. • Willingness to support all teams and direct his/her program in harmony with the athletic department. • Knowledge of general school and VHSL/RCPS policies and procedures.
