Job description

Rambus , a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Principal Engineer Logic Design to jo i n our CXL SoC team in Chapel Hill, NC . Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.  

As a Principal Engineer Logic Design , the candidate will be reporting to Director Logic Design and is a Full - Time position. We are looking for a highly technical engineer to join a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team focused on the development of our CXL memory products . We are looking for an experienced “hands on” engineer who can lead our top-level SoC design and integration , improve our processes, methodologies, infrastructure, and help to grow the team to a best-in-class position.   

In this role you will own the planning , design , and delivery of top-level RTL for SoCs and ASICs from concept through to production release. The ideal candidate will possess a wide range of technical skills involved in design and integration of an SoC product starting from initial product concept through to production release . The candidate should have comprehensive silicon design experience with a track record of successful tape-outs and first-pass success. The candidate will need to have outstanding organization, communication, teamwork, debugging, and mentoring skills.   

• Lead the planning, implementation, and delivery of top-level RTL /deliverables for ASIC/ SoC  
• Collaborate with device architects to define the SoC top-level architecture  
• Writing Micro-architecture specification s and engineering documentation   
• Debug and resolve issues related to integration of complex IP in SoC s  
• Manage cross functional interactions related to top-level RTL of SoCs  
• Review t est plan s review for verification, emulation, and validation   
• Support the debug of SoCs in verification, emulation, and post-silicon validation  
• Work with architecture and produce marketing teams to define product concepts  

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.  
• 8+ years of experience or 6+ with MS degree  
• Experience in multiple successful ASIC tape-outs and  track record of first-pass success  
• Experience leading ASIC/SOC top-level or subsystem design teams  
• Experience with digital logic design using Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL  
• Experience with ASIC/SOC design and microarchitecture  
• Experience with ASIC/SOC design flows including lint, DFT, CDC, synthesis, and static timing  
• Experience with SoC integration including design partitioning  
• Experience with high performance and low power RTL design techniques  
• Demonstrated ability to mentor a team  
• Experience with PCIE or CXL protocols is an asset  
• Experience with the DDR4 or DDR5 protocol is an asset  
• Experience with RISC-V processors is an asset  
• Experience with AXI/AHB is an asset  
• Excellent teamwork and time management skills, self-direction, the ability to work under pressure and the desire to excel in a competitive  environment  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The US salary range for this full-time positi on is $108,400.00 to $201,400.00 . Our sa lary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
