POSITION DATA
Position Title –Heavy Equipment Operator
Location: We operate in Wisconsin and Illinois. Travel to jobsites is required.
This will start as a temporary position for a period of roughly 15 to 90 days, with the potential to be hired on full-time during that time period.
All temps will have the opportunity to make this a temp to hire position after the 90 day mark if Arch and the worker are in agreement
Hourly rates are designated by the county where the project is located. This currently varies from $30-$75/ per hour based on experience.
Fair Labor Standards Act Status – Non-Exempt (Hourly Position)

FUNCTIONAL ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of the Heavy Equipment Operator is to assist the Mechanical and Electrical teams in providing consistent, high-quality, cost-effective, and timely analysis during construction. This role requires excellent attendance, a willingness to travel, and the ability to work in inclement weather. This role will work in conjunction with the Mechanical Team, Electrical Team, Site Lead, engineering and civil subcontractors, and the HR Coordinator.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Strong customer service, Positive attitude, Highly motivated, Superior problem-solving skills.
Proficient in operating Mini Excavators, Skid Steers, Telehandlers, Excavators, and other common construction machinery.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience operating Pile Driving Equipment (PD10, Hercules, etc.)
Experience using Trimble-guided GPS equipment.
Proven ability to work in a team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to perform tasks with minimal amount of supervision.
Ability to perform physical tasks if/when needed.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with co-workers, county officials, the general public, etc.
Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
Knowledge of OSHA and Fall Protection.
Valid Drivers’ License, with a good driving record.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Heavy Equipment Operator will take primary direction from the Site Leader or the Construction Project Management team.
AUTHORITY
The authority will be determined as job skills and requirements are assessed. Heavy Equipment Operators will have the chance to become HEO Journeymen who are responsible for training an HEO Apprentice.
RESPONSIBILITIES & PRINCIPLE DUTIES
Perform, organize, and document as directed by Site Leader or the Construction Project management team.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
The job performance of the Heavy Equipment Operator will be determined by a company-wide peer review, administered by the HR Coordinator if the worker is brought in as a full-time employee.
