THE DEPARTMENT
The College of Professional and Global Education (CPGE) is Cal Poly Pomona’s self-supporting College that serves the University’s life-long learning and public-private partnership mission with a portfolio of diverse programs. CPGE’s role is to extend the education capacity of the University and enhance the applied research opportunities for faculty and students. Its programs include Open University, On-Site Training, various academic credit programs including several master’s degrees, International Center, Cal Poly English Language Institute, and a portfolio of certificate, non-certificate professional development, contract training, and extension courses. CPGE is located in the Center for Training, Technology, and Incubations (CTTi) and is the anchor tenant for Innovation Village. CPGE maintains its own registration, publicity, and accounting and financial management services with a full-time staff of approximately 28, which includes approximately 16 state employees and 12 Cal Poly Pomona Foundation employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); office methods and procedures; statistical and mathematical presentation of data; advanced proficiency with current word processing and spreadsheet software programs, web browsers, query tools, integrated financial systems and/or other types of records management systems. General understanding of internal control methods. Working knowledge of federal student financial aid annual reporting requirements, and quarterly grant reporting requirements. In addition to those of the Accountant I, ability to apply accounting principles to the analysis of complex accounting problems; analyze and interpret accounting data; prepare clear, accurate financial statements and reports; utilize problem-solving techniques in finding solutions to complex accounting problems; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and principles; make decisions and recommendations regarding accounting activities; communicate effectively with others inside and outside the unit, including conveying technical information to non-Accountants.

CSU Classification Salary Range
This position is part of the CSUEU bargaining unit, the CSU Classification Standards for this position are located on the following site, The CSU Salary Schedule is located on the following site: The classification salary range for this position according to the respective skill level is minimum $4,452 and maximum $8,592 per month.
