JOB SUMMARY:
Assists with planning, installation and maintenance of the operation of computer hardware accompanying software for the library system and other departments. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
- Installs, tests and maintains equipment such as computers, printers software (WAN, LAN and local); Responsible for PC Image, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting of Library System computers.
- Implements and maintains anti-virus and desktop security.
- Installs and troubleshoots time/access management software.
- Assists in cabling and equipment layout and assists in maintenance of network closet to insure that it continues to meet Library standards.
- Assists in system wide port mapping of each network closet and maintaining labeling of patch panels and or fact plates.
- Assists other department personnel in receiving and documentation of technology shipments both incoming and outgoing.
- Assists other department personnel in ordering and distributing system supplies that are managed by the technology department.
- Assists in monitoring of the building video security system.
- Assists with cell phone fleet management.
- Creates, modifies, moves, and deletes server patches, responsible for maintenance and backup.
- Assists in implementing database in PC environment, including current inventories of software and hardware.
- Researches technological trends and advances.
- Assists in operation and maintenance of videoconferencing systems; Sets up technologically advanced audiovisual events for the staff and public. Assists in installing, testing and maintaining equipment such as video conferencing computes and room systems (WAN, LAN and local).
- Assists in coordination of phone repairs with the county telecommunications department.
- Assists network administrators; establishes security groups and access levels; adds users and devices to network as needed.
- Responsible for network email accounts; Creates and troubleshoots email accounts.
- Trains library staff in basic computer concepts.
- Interfaces with hardware and software vendors to resolve technical problems.
- Answers technology help-desk questions as part of the library system IT help desk team.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
- High School Diploma/GED and 1-2 years specialized training in computers or technology field.
- 1 year job related experience.
- Must have strong computer skills with experience with hard-drive replicators, DNS, SCCM, WebEx, & Active Directory.
- Must have basic network skills including WiFi, A+ or equivalent, Windows Server 2012R2-2022, Windows professional, MS Visio, MS Office 2019-2021 and MS Office 365.
- Wiki programming and writing skills a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with internal and external clients.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must stay informed of new technological advances and trends in the computer industry and have the ability to learn new technologies.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadlines; ability to prioritize work.
SALARY RANGE: 22.07 - $27.59 hourly based on qualifications
