Job description

The Community Relations Coordinator will serve as the main point of contact for our company to the local community as a service provider for the Federal Lifeline Program. The position will focus on the coordination and execution of community outreach events to increase the awareness of the program as well as enroll eligible benefit recipients.

The Community Relations Coordinator champions initiatives for the greater good through impactful promotional strategies and events. The ultimate goal of the program is to assist underprivileged community members in obtaining basic communication tools to improve the quality of life and seek impactful alternatives for low-income families to increase their socioeconomic standing and provide overall job security.

Community Relations Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist community members in the enrollment of the government assistance program by verifying eligibility and completing all necessary documentation
• Create, distribute, and collect records of program participants, new enrollments and service areas
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of community participation in programs and demographic data for outreach impact
• Attend community outreach and program enrollment training as required by funders and/or division leadership
• Understand program goals, monitor progress towards meeting these goals, and communicate this progress to program leadership on a regular basis
• Provide general assistance to the members of the division
• Ensure participant files contain all necessary and up-to-date participation documentation
• Assist in day to day operations of the division/program as needed
• Perform all other related duties as assigned by operational management

Community Relations Coordinator Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Attention to detail and commitment to the program initiatives
• Strong Problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable taking initiative to learn the basics of the program, determine and generate corresponding outreach events and enrollments, and share findings on an on-going basis
• A courteous and pleasant manner for quality customer service to those in need
• Excellent customer service and organization skills
• Sound judgment and commitment to ensuring the confidentiality of the participant's records
• Commitment to full-time schedule and punctuality
• Experience working with a non-profit agency/organization is a plus
