BASIC PURPOSE : The Logistics Manager is based in Oklahoma City, OK and will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the logistics operations within their department. You will ensure the efficient planning, coordination, and execution of the transportation operation (inbound & outbound) for multiple regional distribution centers. Your primary objective will be to direct and mentor a team of Logistics Planners, manage the transportation P&L, optimize processes, minimize costs, and enhance overall efficiency while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their success and professional development
- Manage departmental budget and P&L, keeping expenses under control to deliver the operating plan
- Develop and implement logistics strategies, KPIs, policies, and procedures to streamline operations and meet organizational objectives
- Plan and coordinate transportation of goods (inbound & outbound), including negotiating contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, internal fleet (Gemini), and other logistics service providers
- Continuously assess and improve logistics processes, identifying areas for cost reduction, performance enhancement, and risk mitigation
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the transportation management system (SAP TM), dispatching solution, and champion future IT-Transportation related projects
- Manage relationships with suppliers, customers, cross-functional teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the supply chain
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in logistics management, and recommend innovations to improve efficiency and competitiveness
- Autonomously lead all facets of the day-to-day transportation operation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain or relevant field preferred
- Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain
- Prior operational experience supporting multiple distribution centers a plus
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, analytics platforms (Tableau, Power BI, etc.), SQL experience a plus
- Ability to learn and become a subject matter expert in transportation applications
- Strong customer relations background with all levels of internal and external customer engagement required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize sensitive situations in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
- Team player with time management skills, can-do attitude, sense of urgency and a strong work ethic
- Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
