General Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of experience in a related field/position. Grant writing and/or grant management experience preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:

Performs complex managerial work providing direction and guidance in operations and planning with student collaboration and outreach programs including ELITE , evolve, Bearkats Belong, and other initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):

Coordinates implementation of outreach initiatives under the direction of the Director of Collaboration & Outreach. Assists with the development, implementation, and/or expansion of the SHSU ELITE (Establishing Leadership In & Through Education) which is a program designed to aid in recruitment, retention, and graduation efforts for students from underserved populations. Develops goals and objectives for the ELITE program as well as marketing and recruitment plans to achieve program growth and student success. Utilizes assessment data to identify areas of need and makes recommendations to improve operations and expansion of current programming. Coordinates and evaluates departmental programs and events. Monitors office budget and operations. Oversees the work of others include the selection, training and supervision of student workers and peer mentors (20+) who implement the program curriculum. Oversees the preparation of program reports and focuses on continuous process improvement and program improvement for student participants. Provides caseload management (intake and progress meetings) for all student participants and specifically for students on academic probation and provides resources their successful academic recovery. Represents department on various internal/external committees. Performs other related duties as assigned.
