About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Packaging Operations for our Sonoma Bottling Center, this role is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to meet key performance objectives for the production line. The Production Manager will coach and develop the Line Supervisors to ensure they have the necessary resources and are following compliance and SOPs, Safety, Food Safety and manufacturing requirements. The Production Manager will also ensure that all relevant financial targets are met. Further to this, this role will manage projects as requested by the Director, Packaging Operations.

Key Responsibilities are:

* Lead by example: Implement and lead TWE DNA throughout the site
* Support and maintain compliance with all company HSE Policies and safe work practices
* Support and maintain compliance with all ISO, FSQM and regulatory requirements
* Implement and maintain compliance regarding food safety and quality management
* Create and execute the tactical plans for the production lines
* Work closely with functional managers, supervisors, leads and operators
* Build and maintain an engaged and empowered workforce
* Assess and develop direct reports' capabilities and skills
* Apply Continuous Improvement principles
* Lead continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, and operational performance
* Complete performance evaluations and development plans for direct reports
* Achieve safety and quality objectives (e.g., risk assessments, incident report completion rates, audit scores, "Right the First Time" scores, product holds)
* Achieve efficiency and cost objectives (e.g., OEE, labor costs, scrap costs)
* Lead daily team meetings to share information, collect feedback and build morale
* Manage shift schedule by:
+ Determining labor requirements based on production schedule
+ Creating labor schedule to achieve production objectives and minimize labor costs
+ Communicating schedule to team members
+ Managing schedule issues (e.g., absences, leave requests, overtime)
* With the support of HR, manage staffing activities by:
+ Identifying personnel needs
+ Creating position descriptions
+ Supporting recruiting activities
+ Interviewing candidates
+ Coordinating on-boarding of new team members
* Develop and manage training activities for production team
* With the support of HR, manage employee relations issues by:
+ Practicing an "open-door policy"
+ Conducting timely and respectful coaching discussions
+ Following TWE personnel policies
+ Maintaining accurate records regarding coaching discussions, performance and safety
* Lead special projects as assigned by the Director, Packaging Operations

About You

* You have a High School Diploma or GED; college degree preferred
* You have 5+ years of progressive leadership and management experience in a production environment (packaging/bottling preferred)
* You have a strong understanding of Continuous Improvement Principles
* You have experience or exposure to maintenance, procurement, logistics, MRP and new product development a plus
* You have a proven record in leading cross-functional teams (e.g., production, maintenance, cellar, lab or warehouse)
* You are flexible with variations in line and shift assignments
* You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)
* You must read, write and speak English fluently; Spanish language skills preferred
* You are willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed
* You are proficiency with computer applications; JDE, Kronos, PeopleSoft
* You have mathematical abilities; add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate raw material consumption rates, averages and production efficiencies
* You have excellent customer service and communication skills; the ability to professionally deal with internal and external customers during stressful situations
* You have a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, follow-through of tasks and projects
* Ability to prioritize, execute multiple tasks and meet deadlines
