Looking for a skilled heavy equipment operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs, following safety protocols, and communicating with supervisors and fellow workers. The candidate should be a team player, have good communication skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Description:

Heavy Equipment Operation:

o Ability to operate excavator well

o Ability to operate bulldozer well

o Ability to operate motor grader well (N/A for pipe crew operators)

o Ability to operate support equipment well (including front end loader, rubber tire backhoe, mini-excavator, skid steer, off road truck, roller, etc.)

o Knowledge of GPS equipment including machine control & GPS rover

o Operates equipment efficiently – meets or exceeds bid production

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum Training and Experience:

o Minimum 3+ years of construction experience or combination of education and experience is preferred.

o Knowledge of principals, methods and standards of the designated trade’s area.

o Experience in the use and methods of tools and equipment commonly employed with the trade.

o Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.

o Performs work in accordance with standards and specifications.

Safety:

o Support and comply with company Health, Safety & Environmental Program, Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace, and Harassment Free Work

o Set yourself as an example and practice workplace safety; use all personal protective equipment required for the job.

o Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.

o Inspect the worksite daily to insure a safe work environment.

o Identify possible hazards with work tasks, tools, and work area - both above and below ground.

o Confirm that all underground utilities have been located each day.

o Report all accidents and incidents to project foreman and superintendent (regardless of how minor) as soon as possible

o Responsible for accessible, clean & organized work site
