Senior Accountant/Winery Controller
Full Time, On-site, Salaried Position
Presqu’ile Winery
Report to CFO

Presqu’ile (‘press-keel’) Winery is a family-owned winery in the Santa Maria Valley dedicated to crafting exceptional, cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah from Santa Barbara County.

We are searching for a unique Senior Accountant/Winery Controller to join our outstanding team of dedicated people; someone to perform and manage all aspects of our accounting processes, who can balance detailed accounting while keeping a focus on the big picture; has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for excellence. This position will consistently engage with the owners and the senior management team, and has the clear ability to make a difference.

This is what you will need to succeed and what you will do:

•  Highest level of integrity, professionalism, openness, and transparency
•  Accounting degree with 4-6 years of combined CPA firm and winery experience (CPA a plus)
•  Supervisory experience, strong attention to details and thoroughness in identifying and resolving problems
•  Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
•  Experience with QuickBooks, VinBalance ERP, Office 365, and Paylocity a plus
•  Advanced excel skills is mandatory
•  Ability to document policies, procedures, and processes with accompanying flow charts
•  Strong understanding of and experience with budgeting, cash flow projections and variance analysis
•  All aspects of general ledger accounting for month-end and year-end closing procedures, reconciliations, worksheets, supporting schedules, journal entries and reports
•  Winery cost accounting and compliance
•  Payroll and HR experience a plus
•  Provide support and counsel to the owners and management group; and develop and coach the finance team.

Base salary of $90,000-120,000 DOE plus discretionary bonus, company paid medical, dental, vision, and a 4% 401K match among other benefits. A pre-employment background check and drug test is required. Please apply confidentially.
