Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Manager - Accreditation & Compliance, and in collaboration with the Director- Quality and Performance Improvement, the Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for implementing all aspects of the Infection Prevention Program.

The IP will oversee a system for identifying, reporting, investigating, preventing, and controlling infections and communicable diseases of patients, visitors, and colleagues. This includes data collection, aggregation, analysis, completing risk assessment, developing action plans and facilitating performance improvement teams and processes focused on infection prevention.

JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS

Type: Full Time; with benefits

Typical Hours: Day Shift

Education:

- Completed post-secondary education in a health-related field including, but not limited to medicine, nursing, laboratory technology, public health or biology.

Certification & Licensures:

- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) required within 2 years of hire.

Experience:

- Experience in Infection Prevention (Acute Care/Ambulatory) and regulatory/accreditation survey experience preferred.
