POSITION PURPOSE:

Assists with tracking, reviewing, and processing in the following areas of Human Resources: audit exceptions, budget code/position alignment, National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) pay, waiver calendars, extra duty pay, and salary schedule completion. Provides office support for the Salary and Information Systems team, including assistance with retirement processing. Assists with job description updating and conversion, as needed.

An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully meet the essential duties of the position may be considered .

 

 

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

None

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintains and tracks a monthly download of audit exceptions from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI); works with supervisors, licensure administrators, Compensation Services and Budget to resolve exceptions and discrepancies.
  2. Maintains a list of waiver calendars submitted annually; collaborates with principals and ensures that calendars meet all requirements; submits approved calendars to Compensation Services.
  3. Maintains a tracking system of National Board certified employees and ensures compliance to receive National Board pay.
  4. Assists with the review of salary schedules.
  5. Provides office support for the Salary and Information Systems team, including assistance with retirement processing; job description updating/conversion, as needed; evaluation check-in.
  6. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, phones, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff and the public. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force.
