Job description
The physician will practice general endocrinology with the ability to teach and participate in clinical research.
The clinic receives a wide variety of cases which makes for a well-rounded and diverse practice.
The practice is comprised of about 40% diabetes and rest is general endocrine including thyroid.
The advanced practice providers handle diabetes follow ups.
Henry Ford New Center One has one dietitian that practices three days per week, and Henry Ford Columbus has a dietitian on-site every day
Each physician is assigned a primary location and may be asked to split time to cover additional locations as needed.
Practice at 4 locations, HF Columbus, HF Bloomfield, HF Plymouth and HF New Center One.
Physicians round at the Main Campus and also sometimes at the West Bloomfield Hospital.
Schedule includes five days per week working at any location assigned.
New providers are eased into clinic and do not have a full schedule right away.
The physician will work 16-18 days of clinic per month, seeing 16-17 patients per day.
Call is evenly distributed amongst the staff physicians and overnight calls are first taken by fellows.
Thursday through Wednesday, 9-10 weekends per year.
Phone calls are taken by the Fellows first and routed to the physicians when needed.
Providers will be on call a week at a time.
The physician will round at Henry Ford Hospital approximately 9-10 weeks a year. In addition, the on call physician will be rounding at HF West Bloomfield Hospital 3-4 times per year.
The practice has three fellows per year. Fellows usually work 3-6 half days of clinic per week and rounds at Henry Ford Hospital.
Must have completed an ACGME/AOA approved Internal Medicine residency program.
Must have completed or currently completing an ACGME/AOA approved Endocrinology fellowship program
