Position Overview

This position is responsible for specific tasks assigned by the Director of Safety but not limited to a specific area/region. This position involves professional close working relationships with all TCI departments/team members on all levels, including but not limited to drivers, mechanics, Recruiting, Human Resources, driver managers, regional managers, customers, vendors and TCI Ownership. This position may require traveling both local and out of state as needed. This position is subject to calls after hours in order to respond to emergencies. This position also requires flexibility for occasional night, weekend and holiday work as needed.

Under general supervision this position plans, organizes, inspects, audits, and participates as needed in work performed by the Safety Department, operations managers, and other TCI personnel. Employee performs related duties and responsibilities as required. Employee will have independent discretion in judgment as it pertains to Safety compliance and its policies. Regular worksite attendance is an essential function of the job and is necessary for a variety of reasons including but not limited to teamwork, face-to-face interaction with clients, and working with items or equipment that are at the place of business. 

Job Requirements:

Operational Skills: Knowledge of FMCSA requirements such as hours of service, driver qualification, pre-trip commercial vehicle and drug & alcohol compliance.

Management: This position requires experience in managing and coaching others.

Analysis: Coordinating with operational staff and drivers in order to receive maximum compliance operating within DOT, OSHA and other company safety department policies.

Communication: This position requires the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers; and the ability to confront and resolve performance or service issues with drivers and customers effectively.
