We are currently seeking a Bio-separation Scientist with the National Institutes of Health in Gaithersburg, MD.

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist to join our team, focusing on the management and advancement of bio-separation projects, particularly in the areas of monoclonal and multispecific antibodies, as well as innovative mRNA/LNP vaccine projects. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related discipline, with 3-4 years of relevant experience. This role involves assisting in the management of analytical core capabilities, representing the assay development group across multiple project teams, and overseeing analytical evaluations to support new vaccine technologies. The successful candidate will be expected to design, guide, and execute scientifically demanding studies, contribute to method development and improvement, and provide critical analysis and reporting on study findings. This position requires a forward-looking perspective, excellent scientific judgment, and the ability to multitask across various projects, contributing to strategic decisions and recommendations for future directions.
TASKS. The contractor shall:
Assist with the management of bio-separation projects focusing on monoclonal and multispecific antibodies.
Manage analytical core capabilities, including chromatography and electrophoresis techniques.
Represent the assay development group in multispecific antibody and mRNA/LNP vaccine projects.
Oversee LNP analytical evaluations for mRNA vaccine development.
Direct scientifically demanding studies within a specific field.
Plan, coordinate, and execute scientific lab testing, method improvements, and investigations.
Analyze data, interpret results, and maintain scientific rigor in evaluations.
Generate detailed reports for studies and investigations.
Ensure project goals are met within time and budget constraints.
Independently plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
Develop research findings and contribute to strategic "go/no go" decisions.
Recommend external technologies for pursuit and critically review scientific knowledge for project decisions.
Coordinate and contribute to peer-reviewed scientific publications.
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:
Ph.D. in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related discipline.
3-4 years of related experience in a scientific research setting.
Strong background in bio-separation techniques and analytical chemistry.
Experience with monoclonal and multispecific antibodies, and mRNA/LNP vaccine projects.
Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and scientific writing.
Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively.
Demonstrated ability to independently plan, design, and troubleshoot scientific projects.
